How it all began…
More than ten years ago, while my family and I lived in the north region of Spain (Basque Country), we got a visit from a family friend. At the time, I was considering my college degree as I was finishing my High School. Our family friend was a professional photographer located in the Seattle area. He had come to Spain for a semester and travelled around capturing it through his photos. So, while he visited, he asked me whether I wanted to use his camera and he could explain the logistics behind it. I was excited, but also scared! I knew real cameras were expensive and I certainly did not have the money to pay him back if something went wrong! He allowed me to use it under his supervision as he explained how it worked; what was the aperture and the shutter speed, how to get the light right, and how it all worked together to create different “effects”. I was fascinated. It was amazing to capture things in the way I saw them. It was as if the camera opened a whole new sphere to share with others how I view the world. And that experience made the difference for me. I realized that creative arts was my passion and I wanted to pursue it. Arts (in its various forms) was alway the way I experienced and shared life and I knew I couldn’t let that go. I would have regret it. So, I embarked in this journey that has led me to many wonderful places, to met amazing people, and to help and served incredible communities. It is a gift to capture life and share that with others, and allow them to see the beauty of life and capture it so we can keep it alive as the time goes by!
